In California, Bill studied Robert Ito's White Tiger Kempo Karate for two years. He later reconnected with Sensei Ed Schaeffer, a cousin and Kyokushinkai practitioner, who introduced him to Kyokushin training.
Bill joined Kyokushinkai under Sensei Schaeffer and Hanshi Don Buck. He received Shodan from Sensei Schaeffer in 1985.
Oregon Branch
Bill was honored with the position of Oregon Branch Chief for Kyokushinkai School of the Tiger by Hanshi Fred Buck.
